Our Honey House Natural Soaps are handmade using the cold process method from pure vegetable oils of olive, coconut, palm, castor, and shea butter. The cold process method retains all of the naturally occurring glycerin that helps to moisturize your skin and not leave your body feeling dry and itchy as commercial soap does.

Only the best moisturizing oils, essential oils, herbs, and organic grains are selected for use as an ingredient. There are no artificial or chemical fragrances and colors used. We love to use raw honey in almost every recipe since it helps to draw and retain moisture to the skin as well as add healing benefits. You will also find either beeswax or cocoa butter in every bar to help create a harder and longer lasting bar of soap. For extra conditioning benefits for the scalp and hair, we add jojoba oil in all our shampoo bars.

The soap mixture is poured into wooden molds to set. When ready, it is hand cut and cured for at least three weeks before the soap can be used. The result is a great lathering, wonderfully scented, quality, handmade soap.

Pumice Power– new soap	Christmas Morning A special, seasonal soap scent coming in time for Christmas! (Fragrance of the Christmas Tree and spices in the kitchen; available from October 1st to end of December.)	Green Tea Ginger –
Lavender Rosemary – One of the top favorites. Lavender, together with rosemary, creates an aroma that both refreshes and strengthens the mind. No herbs are added, just the pure essential oils to give it the soft creamy color.	Rosemary & Sage Shampoo and Body Bar – The same fabulous shampoo bar recipe as our other shampoo bars with the addition of organic ground rosemary leaves. Rosemary is said to be very beneficial to hair and invigorates the scalp. The scent is a refreshing herbal.	Minty Fresh – A great morning wake up in the shower! Your skin will feel all tingly from the pure essential oils used. The delightful green swirl on each bar is created from natural colorants, and the refreshing scent will clear your sinuses!
Oatmeal and Honey – All of our natural soaps contain Honey Gardens Raw Honey for its ability to draw moisture to the skin, but our Oatmeal and Honey soap (our most popular soap), has even more honey. Organic oats are ground and added for their ability to soothe itchy skin. You’ll love the sweet fresh scent with a little spice.	Calendula Orange – The skin softening petals of the calendula flower are dried and ground before placing in this soap. Children tend to love citrus scents, but the young at heart will also enjoy this fresh citrus scent. Annatto seed extract is used to give each bar a vibrant orange swirl.	Patchouli Blend – Patchouli became popular in the 70’s. Now we’ve updated it to bring it into the 21st century through a unique blend of complimenting essential oils. A touch of henna gives each bar a soft brown tone.
Cocoa Butter and Vanilla – Cocoa Butter makes this a hard, long-lasting bar of soap. Very moisturizing and pleasantly scented with real vanilla. Especially nice for facial cleansing.	Softness and Shine Shampoo and Body Bar – Nourishing and conditioning benefits of almond, jojoba and wheat germ oils set these bars apart from all the rest. Extra castor oil helps create a really rich lather. Your natural scalp oils will function the way they should, producing softness and shine! Men and women alike enjoy the pleasant light scent.	Lemon Poppy Seed – Fresh lemony scent, the poppy seeds help in exfoliating the skin. Great soap for the kitchen to rid smells of garlic and such from your fingertips.
Licorice – Non-irradiated ground seeds of Anise and Fennel give this bar the distinct licorice aroma. Perfect soap for a fisherman since fish love the scent of licorice. As an added bonus, for a hunter, licorice hides the human scent from deer.	Dog Shampoo Bar – Rich in cedar wood essential oil. Your dog will smell clean and rest easy from scratching those bugs away! He’d thank you if he could! Mild and gentle on the skin as well.	Unscented – For those who prefer no scent at all. This is the same great soap, with no scent.
Christmas Morning – Reminiscent of the smells of the live Christmas tree and goodies baking in the oven! Available October through December.	Summer Bouquet – Enjoy the fragrance of summer all year ‘round with this richly floral scented soap. Ground paprika produces a lovely salmon colored swirl on every bar.	Chocolate – A rich, deep brown shade with light swirls. Each bar smells good enough to eat with the irresistible scent of chocolate; perfect for the serious chocolate lover!
Herb Garden - A fresh scent of herbs found in many a gardener’s back yard. Non-irradiated dried herbs of basil and oregano add to the unique look. The organic cornmeal adds just enough texture to help those soiled hands to clean up nicely.	Great Outdoors 1 Very convenient for those camping trips or any time you know you may be in the company of bothersome insects. Citronella is the dominant essential oil used in this bar, well known for its insect repellency. Pleasant menthol scent. Don’t forget to wash your hair with this same bar!	Great Outdoors 2 - Decrease your risk of insect bites while enjoying outdoor activities. This bar is the same formula as the Great Outdoors 1 only we changed the essential oils to include catnip and took out the citronella. Studies show that mosquitoes don’t like the scent of catnip. As an added bonus, this bar works wonderfully as a shampoo!
Chamomile Baby Shampoo and Body Bar – A baby’s skin is tender, but some adults have sensitive skin too. This bar is mild and gentle for baby or grown-up. Moisturizing avocado and apricot kernel oils are used in place of the usual almond oil in our shampoo bar recipe, being thoughtful of those with nut allergies. Organic chamomile flower infused olive oil is strained and added for scent and skin benefits. The naturally sweet, mild scent of chamomile will help relax and calm you or your baby.	Lovely Lavender – For the serious lavender lover! Unwind from the day with this stress relief scent. We’ve added crushed lavender buds to help prolong the scent and add a beautiful look to each bar.	Cinnamon Latte - Who doesn’t love the uplifting aroma of fresh coffee? Enjoy showering with this bar, made from freshly ground organic coffee and the spicy sweetness of organic cinnamon with a touch of vanilla. Yum! A very popular soap.

Directions for using shampoo bars

Handmade bar shampoo gently cleans without stripping the natural oils from your hair, leaving it healthy and shiny. You’ll be truly pleased and amazed at the results! You may never want to use bottled shampoo again.

Just rub between your hands and apply the lather to your hair or even rub the bar directly on wet hair. Then work the lather through and rinse as usual. No conditioner is needed.

You may find that it takes approximately five shampoos for your hair to become accustomed to using our shampoo bars. Extremely hard water (the minerals interfere with the ability of the soap to be rinsed off your hair) or residues left behind from previous shampoos and conditioners can result in your hair feeling “funny” for a couple days. The following final rinse is recommended during this phase and even weekly thereafter.

To help remove residues, add shine, decrease tangles, balance the ph, and give you a healthier scalp: Add 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to a cup of water and use as a final rinse after shampooing (the vinegar smell will disappear when your hair dries).

Keeping your shampoo bar on a draining dish allowing it to air dry between uses will extend its life. It will soften if allowed to stay damp.
