“Honey House Weekly Note” January 22, 2006
Hi Friends, Have you ever been out to dinner eating very tasty food and wondered how long you would be able to do that, not just financially but health wise. “How long will I be able to digest this spicy-a-meat-a-ball stuff,” you think. For me, I started thinking that way in my early thirties. By my late thirties I was actually getting sick at the restaurants, and at 42 it was over completely. My colon was broke. I almost died. Today, in my fifties, when my wife and I go out to dinner, I come home feeling great. And usually the food is awesome, if it’s the right restaurant, and there are plenty of right restaurants if you shop around and look. Did I mention that we’re totally vegan in our eating? I know what you are thinking. No, it’s not just rabbit food. Oh! The flavors, the sauces, the wonderful food that God has given us on His earth if used and prepared properly. Below is Dorothy talking about a typical day on our diet:
A Typical Day on the Hallelujah Diet
Upon arising a few sips of water then 1 1/2 teaspoons of Barley Max. About 1 hour later I take 1 tablespoon of organic ground flaxseed (or B Flax D product from Hallelujah Acres) and ˝ teaspoon psyllium husk powder mixed into 1 glass of distilled water. Then I drink about another glass of water. It's important to drink a lot of water with the ground flax seed and psyllium because it swells in your system. (In the first 3-4 months of your diet change it is recommended to take a fiber cleanse product like the one Hallelujah Acres sells). I drink a cup of carrot juice with Barley Max mid morning to one hour before lunch. At lunch I usually have a fruit smoothie with the kids, consisting of bananas (frozen or not), other frozen fruit (strawberries, blueberries, pineapples, etc), raw unfiltered honey (we sell it), and distilled water. I may also eat an apple. Occasionally some soaked, dehydrated nuts and seeds. (If battling a disease it is suggested to eat a salad at lunch instead of fruit). I also drink distilled water freely throughout the day. I have my 2nd cup of carrot juice with Barley Max about one hour before dinner. Dinner is always a very large vegetable salad, never using iceberg lettuce. Dressing is usually lemon juice and/or raw apple cider vinegar, Celtic sea salt, sometimes Udo's oil or flax seed oil or extra virgin olive oil, and garlic powder. You may want to add a tablespoon of ground flaxseed also. Nutritional Yeast (nutty cheesy flavor) is also a good seasoning I occasionally add. After the salad I eat a little cooked food (potato, brown rice, whole grain pasta, whole grain bread, beans, etc). Seasoned with vegan sauces or just herbs and seasonings. I also usually have cooked vegetables mixed in or on the side. I especially like roasted veggies. Once in a while I experiment with a new vegan recipe for dinner (I have gathered a huge collection over the years!). A couple hours after dinner I might have herb tea or a piece of fruit. About once or twice a week we enjoy a homemade "healthier" cooked or raw vegan dessert. We also belong to a health foods co-op where we get a wide variety of bulk foods as well as already prepared foods at discounted prices. I try to get good exercise every day, either on my rebounder using 3-pound weights or a nice brisk walk. Exercise is especially important since it is the only way to get your lymph system moving which eliminates toxins in the system. Make sure you get plenty of sleep, 8 hours is ideal, keep a positive outlook by reading God's Word daily, and get fresh air and sunshine daily if possible. Don't hold onto any bitter feelings, forgive, be a giving person, share your love and receive love, put others first. Where you fall short, ask God's help and expect Him to answer; He always does. Great health to your body, soul, and spirit!

BLUEBERRY Rejuvenation Tonic (FOR STRESS AND THE EYES) Refrigerate after opening!!! This is the newest natural product put out by Todd and his team at Honey Gardens Apiaries in Northern Vermont. These products are now being shipped all over the world and being picked up by large companies all over the U.S. The healing in our bodies through the consumption of these products is absolutely mind-boggling. I would like to share some of the characteristics of just a few of the ingredients. Organic Wild Blueberries! A full 25% of the ingredients in each bottle from the state of Maine. Blueberries are very high in antioxidant compounds, fiber, vitamin C, bioflavonoids, are a good blood cleanser, and circulatory stimulant, and are especially effective against cataracts and glaucoma, slowing down vision loss and improving the ability of eyes to adjust and focus quickly after exposure to light. Blueberries are loaded with bioflavonoids that fight varicose veins, hemorrhoids and peptic ulcers. Blueberries are anti-bacterial against E.coli and urinary tract infections. The Journal of Neuroscience shows a diet high in blueberries improves short-term memory and coordination problems. SIBERIAN GINSENG! Or Eleuthrococcus Root-- Called the "King of all Tonics". The Ginseng strengthens, normalizes and regulates all body systems to increase all body energy, and promote longevity and health. Particularly beneficial to the adrenal glands where it supports, counteracts and even prevents the effects of stress. Increases energy on all levels- mental and physical energy, long and short-term energy. Studies show that Siberian Ginseng promotes a dramatic increase in total immune cells, especially natural killer cells, to support your immune system against infections. Ginseng is a rich source of germanium, which improves oxygen uptake by the body. It helps support the female system after menopause. It increases the acuity of vision, memory and hearing. It also lowers blood sugar levels in non-insulin dependent diabetics. It reduces side effects like nausea, lack of appetite and dizziness from chemotherapy or radiation treatment, and also increases the efficiency of these drugs. PROPOLIS! A powerful antibiotic found in all the Honey Gardens products. It protects us against staphylococcus aurous, a bacteria that causes serious infections, blood poisoning and a type of pneumonia. New studies show that Propolis inhibits the streptococcal bacteria that cause strep throat and dental cavities. Propolis works against viruses, something that antibiotics cannot do. Research shows that taking Propolis during high-risk "cold and flu" seasons reduces colds, coughing, and inflammation of mouth, tonsils and throat membranes. Propolis is rich in flavonoids and B-vitamins that work both internally and externally to heal scars, bruises and blemishes. FRESH BEE POLLEN! Called Nature’s perfect food. It has all 22 amino acids, 27 minerals, and the full span of vitamins, complex carbohydrates, essential fatty acids, enzymes and co-enzymes. Bee Pollen has 5 to 7 times more protein than beef! Bee pollen is so nutrient rich, it's been used worldwide for centuries to rejuvenate and rebuild the body after illness. Pollen is a valuable aid to weight control. It can normalize body metabolism and stoke metabolic fires to keep calories burning and weight stable. Bee Pollen also: Increases energy levels and strength for athletes Helps the body normalize diarrhea and constipationTranquilizes without side effects Increases blood hemoglobin. Rids the body of toxins Chelates and flushes out artery-clogging biochemical deposits Reduces the negative effects associated with radiation Protects against skin dehydration Stimulates growth of new skin tissue Normalizes heart rate and breathing Bee pollen taken during allergy season can often prevent symptoms. Bee pollen is also found in Honey Gardens raw honey. APPLE CIDER VINEGAR! Found in many of our Honey Gardens products. A therapeutic vinegar for cleansing and alkalizing, a powerful germ killer. Can ease heartburn and soothe sore throats. ASTRAGALUS ROOT! Anti-stress, anti-viral and immune stimulant, especially for cancer and aids where it repairs damaged cells and strengthens the body during recuperation from these diseases. A strong preventative of viral and bacterial invasion in the respiratory system. reduces blood pressure, improves circulation and strengthens the heartbeat. Other great ingredients include organic milk thistle seed, which helps to rid toxins from our liver. Accumulated toxins can zap our energy. Organic nettle leaf and wild crafted kelp are two other ingredients, both being greens, rich in minerals. Greens have the nutrients that are very necessary for the health of our cells. We sell it in an 8-ounce glass bottle. You should take 1 tablespoon a day, two if needed. The cost is $16.95, and the taste is great. Refrigerate after opening and don't forget to shake before using. That’s all I have time to write for now. Hope to see many of you at the market this Wednesday, MarkJ www.thehoneyhouse.net PS: For those of you who ordered videos and books, I have them in.
