“Honey House Weekly Note” January 8, 06
Hi Friends, Hope you’re all doing well this week. This Saturday the 14th at 5:30pm we’re planning on having our Covered dish teaching meeting on diet and health. I hope many of you can make it. The only cost is bringing some vegan food to share with others. We plan on showing an excerpt from the video: The Greatest Diet on Earth” with Joel Fuhrman M.D. He is relatively local, out of Flemington, New Jersey. Medical doctors send him their diabetes patients that they have given up on. Dr. Fuhrman gets ninety some percent of these patients off their insulin in less than four weeks through only nutrition. These meetings are very informative and uplifting, filled with like minded people looking for a path to weight loss and freedom from the fear of diseases. Please call or email us if you can make it. THE HOMETOWN MARKET!
If you are planning on coming to the Hometown Market this Wednesday, we have lots of sales going on. We have a big sale on the Sea Silver, with awesome sea greens, aloe vera, etc. This week at the market, you can get Honey Garden’s “Blueberry Rejuvenation Tonic” $3 off. That’s $13.95, regular price is $16.95. These are the best sales we’ve ever had on these products. We also have Hallelujah Acre’s product sales, ear candle sales etc. etc. etc. This week Laura plans on having her organic wraps with grilled veggies & vegan cheese, and Apple-Spice muffins, all items made with organic whole flours and sugar and other quality ingredients made from scratch. That’s right, real apples in the muffins and homemade tortillas for the wraps, that’s why they taste so good. She also plans on baking some organic whole grain breads for the market. If you would like a half dozen or more of Laura’s Specialties, please let her know a few days ahead. You can call her cell 570-709-8253 or email your order to her at: laflutist@hotmail.com Please don’t forget we carry the best juicers and distillers. If you don’t see them at the market on a given week, you can order them. Dorothy has her growing line of Aromatherapy products also at the market like her essential oil perfumes, hand and body lotion, peppermint lip balm, beeswax furniture polish, pure essential oils and much more coming. If you’re looking for good clean burning candles for the winter, you might want to try Dorothy’s 100% beeswax candles. They actually clean the air of dust mites, allergens and odors. They help heal your sinuses, make the air clean smelling and elevate your mood (put you in a better mood). If you want an invigorating experience in the shower, and if you want to moisturize your skin, Dorothy makes completely natural bath soap the old fashioned way. We have many different kinds at the market. Are you suffering from constipation, bloating, feeling run down, and too much weight? We have Hallelujah Acres Fiber Cleanse in powder or capsules. This is a colon cleanse that works. It’s completely natural. It kills the parasites within two weeks and they pass out of you dead. If you don’t look, you would never know. By the way, the majority of Americans have parasites. Most Americans also have 10-15 extra pounds in their colon which shouldn’t be there. Colons weigh about 9 lbs. When they opened up the late John Wayne, they found that his colon weighed 65 lbs. According to Norman Walker, who lived to almost 120 years, keeping your colon clean is about half the battle to living healthy to 120 years. He also says the colon is the seat of all disease. So it’s a good time to do some house cleaning for prevention.
"Depression & Anxiety, It's All Healable" (my made-up title)
Just like any other illness or disease, depression and anxiety are no different. The same criteria that leads to cancer, heart disease, acid reflux, for the most part, leads to the mind problems. Lorraine Day, after being depression and anxiety free for most of her life, in her sixties was hit with a hard bout of each. In the process, she found many of the causes and cures, and today is once again healthy and young, back in her thirties; well that's what she looks like. If you don't know who Lorraine Day is, she used to be the head surgeon at the San Francisco General Hospital, among many other duties for 20 years. She was dying of breast cancer and was totally healed of the cancer, and everything that went with it through diet and other alternative means. She, a medical doctor most her life, can be found on TV, radio, and video all over at least America, if not the world. She is basically on the Hallelujah Diet, like Dorothy and me, and like us has been on barley grass and fiber all these years. Here is some of what she says on depression and anxiety.
CAUSES: Sugar We're talking about the processed, refined sugar for the most part. These are some of the bad things about sugar. Most Americans eat about 125 lbs a year. It is a non-food. There is no nutrition in it. In fact, it robs the body of nutrients, such as vitamin C and B complex vitamins. You don't want to hear the side effects of lacking B complex vitamins. Sugar causes imbalances in the brain and body. Too much refined sugar leads to Hypoglycemia. That's a bad one to have. I know this all sounds bad, but remember it can all be reversed. Yes it can. Amen!! Anti-Depressant Drugs, like Prozac actually cause depression. Well, that is one of the side effects. After the list of Horror-Movie side effects she listed on the video of anti-depressant drugs, if you're on them, the goal needs to be weaning off them slowly but as quick as possible. Caffeine has a list of side effects of its own. Caffeine is not food. I'm sorry. I know how it feels. I drank my coffee and ate my chocolate till I was 44. I know some of you are saying, "Mark, Rest in Peace". But you don't understand, I discovered carob and carrot juice. Please, I don't want to hear what you coffee, fudge and chocolate people are thinking right now. I really did get over it. Ha-Ha Anyway, side effects of caffeine include insomnia. That's when you lay there and lay there and lay there and your eyes will just not close. I relate to that. Caffeine also causes anxiety, depression, and dehydrates the body. It also gives you bad headaches, and contrary to "Touched by an Angel", I don't think angels drink coffee. Like I said, caffeine causes dehydration. Do you want to know what dehydration causes (It's a domino effect Ladies and Gentlemen)? One of the answers is STRESS. Bad Stress. OK! Enough of the causes or the bad news. Now let's go to the good.
CURES: Water! Lots of it. Preferably distilled. At least (10) 8oz glasses of pure water a day. Dr. Day says this is really big when it comes to depression. Our body & brain need lots and lots of water. Actually try it, 10 or more glasses a day and see the difference for yourself. If I down about 24 oz of water in an hour, I notice an amazing difference. I know this is a tough one for many, but Lorraine says watch the animal meat and dairy! Mainly because it is full of added hormones, anti-biotics, pesticides, and a whole list of junk which I can’t remember right now because the list was so long. The Right Foods! Like fresh raw fruits and vegetables. Lots and lots of greens and raw juices. Instead of potato chips, I often eat a bag of baby spinach; great on the road or at the movies. Exercise & Fresh Air! We all know what that is. Get that oxygen pumping. Don't watch the news! It's too full of half-truths anyway. Forgive! Don't hold grudges. Don't live an angry life. It isn't just depression; this stuff will take you to the grave quicker. And forgive yourself. No Guilt. Jesus' blood even forgives the worst of us. No loud stuff! Like wild music. She said there was a study done with mice. Over a period of 10 hours, one group listened to classical music and another group listened to hard rock. After the 10 hours, the group listening to the hard rock was so violent; they were actually killing each other. The group listening to the classical did good. Pray & Meditate! with our Maker. This brings peace and hope. Well, this was just a touch in my own words of what Dr. Day had to say. Hope to see you at the market and the meeting on Saturday, Mark MarkJ www.thehoneyhouse.net570-401-1353
